Frances Widdowson has been a professor at Mount Royal University for five years. Her research interests include aboriginal policy, environmental policy, political economy, religion and politics, and the philosophy of science. She is the co-author (with Albert Howard) of Disrobing the Aboriginal Industry: The Deception Behind Indigenous Cultural Preservation (Montreal: McGill-Queen's University Press), which was shortlisted for the Donner Prize. She is co-editor (also with Albert Howard) of Approaches to Aboriginal Education in Canada: Searching for Solutions (Edmonton: Brush Education, forthcoming). Her current research project is entitled The Killing of Social Science: How Advocacy Studies Murder Academic Disciplines and Effective Policy Development.
